Meti Abdissa Tiruneh Honored at IWP Dubai 2025 for Excellence in Entrepreneurship and Social Impact

Dubai, UAE | June 30, 2025 — Ms. Meti Abdissa Tiruneh, a dynamic Ethiopian entrepreneur, philanthropist, and women’s rights advocate, was honored with the Iconic Women Award 2025 in the category of Entrepreneurship at the 2nd International Women Parliament (IWP) Conclave, held at Seven Seas Hotel, Dubai, in recognition of her remarkable contributions to business innovation and community empowerment.


Ms. Meti is the visionary founder of Mijuu Coffee, one of Ethiopia’s fastest-growing coffee brands, currently operating four outlets in Addis Ababa and aiming to expand across East Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. Her entrepreneurial ventures also include industrial chemical imports and the upcoming launch of an 8,000-square-meter RUTF production facility, dedicated to combating malnutrition through ready-to-use therapeutic foods.
In addition to her thriving business portfolio, Ms. Meti is a passionate social advocate. She holds an LLB from Addis Ababa University and an MBA with high distinction from IICMT University, Florida. She actively supports human rights and gender equality as a member of the Ethiopian Women Lawyers Association and African Women in Business.
Her community impact includes:
- Supporting education for women and girls
- Funding shelters and aid programs for street children
- Advocating against gender-based violence
- Providing employment to over 120 individuals
The IWP conclave, led by Namita Ghimire (President, IWP – Nepal), brought together over 40 women leaders and changemakers from across the globe under the Project100 initiative, which celebrates impactful women leaders from 100 countries.
